The March For Black Women and the March for Racial Justice brought plenty of supporters to D.C. Saturday.

One march was organized with the goal of putting a spotlight on the challenges facing black women.

More than 2,000 women were expected to show up to "demand a brand of racial justice that centers on the trauma and atrocities of all Black women’s lived experiences across generations," according to a statement from the organizers.

Organized and beginning separately, the two marches eventually joined up.

The March For Black Women started with a rally at around 10:00 a.m. and then people marched from Capitol Hill at around 11:30 a.m.
