WASHINGTON (ABC7) — For Chapp Gage working with his mom every day comes easy, "When I talk to people about working with my mom, probably 80 percent of the people go' Oh my god, I could never do that.' "
When Susan Gage started her catering company in the 1980s, the self-taught chef knew a lot about entertaining for big groups, but not much about the business side of things.
"He just came at the right time" Susan says, explaining it was his leadership background he picked up in the Army that helped propel the business forward. She goes on to say, "It has really proved beneficial to our company."
Today, Chapp is working to adjust their popular event-driven business, "We are going to have to navigate this by offering new products" which he says includes offering delivery. That includes this special 'Breakfast in Bed' packages for Mother's Day.
Susan is thankful for her son’s natural ability to adapt to the new climate. "I'm really letting Chapp and the next generation at SGC take the lead on this."
