With Hurricane Florence moving toward the East Coast as a Category 4 storm, one of the primary concerns for the District, Maryland and Virginia is rain, and lots of it.

The Storm Watch 7 team says parts of Virginia may see rainfall totals exceeding 10 inches. A State of Emergency has been declared for the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia, and residents should plan for localized flooding, downed trees and power outages.

Maryland and Virginia both have a very easy way for residents to find out if they live in a hurricane evacuation zone.

The Maryland Emergency Management Agency has the Maryland Hurricane Evacuation lookup tool. Enter your address, and you will find out if you are in an evacuation zone. Find that tool by CLICKING HERE.

The Virginia Department of Emergency Management has a similar tool that can be found HERE.
