Hundreds of flights leaving airports in D.C. area canceled due to strong winds

Reagan National Airport lists flight cancellations on its board, Friday, March 2, 2018 (Q McCray, ABC7)

Strong winds in the Washington, D.C. area led to cancellations of flights leaving local airports on Friday.

Several airlines have issued weather waivers for passengers traveling into the Northeast region, including D.C.

Reagan National Airport, Dulles International Airport, and Baltimore-Washington International Airport tweeted Friday that air travelers should monitor the status of their flights prior to arriving.

A pilot who landed a flight at Dulles Airport Friday reported that passengers on board "threw up" as the plane was descending into windy conditions.
