WASHINGTON (NEWSCHANNEL 8) - This week on Hispanic Agenda: As the country gets ready to celebrate the contributions of its largest minority during Hispanic Heritage Month, our panel discusses our achievements, while bringing attention to the challenges facing Latinos today. Abel Nuñez, Executive Director of CARECEN, Alberto Avendaño, Editor-In-Chief of El Tiempo Latino and Judy Pino of the Libre Initiative join host Alejandro Negron for an insightful conversation on the state of the Hispanic community.

Plus, whether you are Latino or Latino at heart, there are many ways to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in our region. ABC7’s Jeannette Reyes has a list of events and festivities you’ll want to add to your agenda.

Then, CASA de Maryland’s legal program manager, Sheena Wadhawan, speaks on the anxiety felt by the families of those facing deportation, now that President Barack Obama decided to postpone an executive order that would provide deportation relief for the undocumented.
