WASHINGTON (7News) — Congratulations! George Washington University on Wednesday surprised one outstanding D.C. high school senior with a full scholarship to the college.
President Mark Wrighton and Dean of Undergraduate Admissions Ben Toll presented the big news to Jasmine Evans before her family, teachers and classmates at McKinley Technology High School.

In total, there are 10 D.C. high school seniors who received a full scholarship through the Stephen Joel Trachtenberg (SJT) Scholarship program.
For more than 30 years, the GW SJT Scholarship program provides exemplary D.C. high school seniors with full scholarships over four years that cover tuition, room, board, books and fees. The program has awarded scholarships to more than 200 students since the program began in 1989.
