George H.W. Bush honors Barbara Bush’s love of literacy with book socks at funeral

HOUSTON (WJLA) - Former President George H.W. Bush wore a pair of socks with books printed on them Saturday to the funeral for his wife, former first lady Barbara Bush, family spokesman Jim McGrath tweeted.

McGrath wrote that the clothing was to honor Barbara Bush's legacy and dedication in raising more than $110 million to family literacy.

Barbara Bush funeral took place Saturday at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas and she was buried at her husband's presidential library at Texas A&M University in College Station. The couple were married for 73 years.
