Plan for more clouds and cooler temperatures to kick-start this last week of March. Our next weather maker will bring the chance for a few showers midday, so have the small umbrella on hand. You'll also want a light jacket with afternoon temperatures in the upper 50s. Rainfall today will be less than .10". Skies will begin to clear this evening with temperatures falling out of the 50s and into the 50s overnight.

This last week of March will be fairly quiet with temperatures a bit below average. Highs will be in the mid to upper 50s all week. The slightly cooler temperature pattern is actually perfect to help extend peak bloom of the cherry blossoms. Warm temperatures, heavy rain, high winds, and sub-freezing temperatures threaten the cherry blossoms while in peak bloom. Fortunately, we are not tracking any of those factors through Friday.

Thursday is Opening Day for our Washington Nationals. As of today, the forecast is looking sunny, cool, and a touch breezy. Our next weather maker will arrive Friday into Saturday bringing a chance for rain and gusty winds Saturday.
