More than 100 people packed the Islamic Society of Germantown Wednesday afternoon for the funeral of 17-year-old Shadi Najjar.

Shadi was murdered Monday night in Gaithersburg, along with his friend, 18-year-old Artem Ziberov, on the eve of their high school graduation.

Shadi's father, Adi Najjar, remains in pained disbelief.

"He's a beautiful boy, handsome boy ... he has clear heart, clean, pure, innocent and some murderer killed him in cold blood," said Adi Najjar.

In fact, multiple law enforcement sources say what happened to the teens as they sat in Shadi's Honda Civic, did seem like a cold blooded ambush.

The shooting happened miles from the teens' homes in a Montgomery Village neighborhood of single family homes.

Sources told ABC7 News Wednesday that it appears that two or three gunmen fired approximately two dozen shots into the car.

Why the teens were in the area remains a mystery, but sources say they were found holding cash as though expecting to pay someone at a meeting spot.

Police are not ruling out any motive at this point.

"We still need help ... we received multiple tips, but we need more information from the community," said Captain Paul Starks, a spokesman for the Montgomery County Police.

The office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore ruled the teens' deaths as a homicide by multiple gunshot wounds Wednesday.
