Frederick residents wake up to icy conditions due to Winter Weather Advisory

Residents in Frederick County, Maryland, awakened to icy conditions with a Winter Weather Advisory in effect for the DC region Monday morning.

Frederick County Public Schools officials decided to close after schools were initially on a two-hour delay.

A caravan of salt trucks were on I-70 traveling to Washington and Frederick counties to apply a fresh layer of salt on roads to help melt the ice.
