Former University of Maryland basketball player Damonte Dodd is accused of rape and assault of an intoxicated woman at a College Park apartment in November 2017.

Dodd is charged with second-degree rape, second-degree assault and related charges, according to a release from the Office of the Prince George's County State's Attorney.

The former Terps player was arrested Thursday in Atlanta after returning from overseas. He was arrested on a Prince George's County warrant, according to ABC7's Brad Bell.

On Oct. 31, 2017, a woman and her friends went to Terrapin's Turf Bar to celebrate Halloween. The release states Dodd and the woman met there for the first time, and he purchased alcoholic beverages for her.

Dodd left the bar with the woman and they headed to his friend's apartment.

In the early morning hours of Nov. 1, while the woman was drunk, Dodd had sex with the victim against her will. A person in the apartment approached Dodd after waking up.

The woman reported the incident to police days later, and Dodd admitted to having sex with her, but stated it was "consensual," according to the release.

Dodd is being held in Atlanta, and has a hearing on July 12 in Prince George's County.
