Grab the umbrella heading out the door today. StormWatch7 continues to track Michael moving over the southeast states, as well as a potent cold front tracking east.

Expect tropical humidity today with scattered shower and thunderstorm chances. Rain chances will be highest this evening, as Michael moves through east central VA. A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for Calvert, St. Mary's, Charles, Stafford, and Spottsylvania counties from this afternoon through late tonight. These locations will see 2-3" of rain with isolated 4" rain totals possible. Closer to the DMV, rainfall will be around to over 1" with lesser amounts farther northwest.

While you're sleeping the rain ends, it will get windy, and temperatures and humidity will drop. You'll want the jacket out the door tomorrow with wake up temperatures in the 50s to low 60s and gusty northwest breezes. Tomorrow highs will only be in the low 60s with breezy conditions through the afternoon.

A few chilly rain showers are possible early Saturday morning, but the rest of the weekend will be dry and continued cool. Get ready for wake up temperatures in the 40s and highs in the 60s.

FLASH FLOOD WATCH for southern MD beginning this afternoon & lasting through tonight. Up to 4" of rain possible.
