One person is dead and five people were wounded late Friday night following a shooting incident in Southwest D.C.

The Metropolitan Police Department said Saturday morning that one woman and four men were injured and were "conscious and breathing" following the shooting and taken to a nearby hospital. However, another female victim that was also shot, died from her injuries on the scene.

The woman has been identified as 35-year-old Temika Johnson, of Southwest, D.C. The shooting was reported at 11:15 p.m. in the unit block of Forrester Street SW.

Police say the shooting is being investigated as a homicide and that there is no lookout for the suspect(s). Anyone with information is asked to call the police.
