WASHINGTON (ABC7) — A firefighter was injured around midnight after a fire broke out at a two-story duplex building in Northeast Washington, DC Fire and EMS reported.
According to fire officials, the fire broke out in a bedroom on the second floor of the duplex that is located in the 3900 block of Clay Place. Officials said heavy smoke was coming from the building.

DC Fire tweeted the firefighter was transported "from [the] scene for observation."
No additional injuries were reported.
