WASHINGTON (ABC7) — Several residents were rescued and two row homes damaged during a raging 2-alarm house fire early Monday morning in Northwest DC, ABC7's John Gonzalez reports from the scene.
A firefighter also received minor injuries, DC Fire and EMS reports.
The home was fully engulfed in flames as firefighters arrived on the scene.
Fire officials confirm, around 100 firefighters responded and it took about 20 pieces of equipment to fight the flames.
Neighbors tell us the home that caught fire was vacant and under renovation. It appears the fire started in the basement. The attic and second floor collapsed.
Nine people were inside the home next-door, including two children and 2 dogs.
