FBI warns public of increase in sexual assaults aboard airplanes

The FBI is warning the public about an uptick in unwanted touching and aggravated sexual assaults aboard airplanes.

Officials say men, women, and children are affected by these incidents, and its reportedly happening when passengers fall asleep.

According to the FBI, this activity takes place on flights over three hours long, and on overnight flights.

Sexual assaults on board a plane is a federal felony. If convicted, an individual can be sentenced to life in prison.
