PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. (7News) — One person is dead after a crash involving a tractor-trailer on Route 5 in Prince George's County early Friday morning as the Memorial Day weekend began, officials said.
Maryland State Police said shortly before 3 a.m., troopers from the Forestville Barrack were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash on at Kirby Road involving a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle on the northbound lanes of MD-5 Branch Ave. in Clinton.
MPS said the driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene.

The northbound lanes at Coventry Way were shut down for nearly five hours and all lanes reopened just before 8 a.m., officials said.
MSP did not say what led to the crash. The incident is under investigation.
