Police were called to investigate a serious multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 66 in Fairfax County that left one person dead Tuesday morning.

ABC7's Nicole O'Brian reports the crash happened on I-66 eastbound near Route 123 and Fairfax County Police say it involved three pickup trucks and a sedan. Officers say the sedan's driver, 21-year-old Juan Zapata of Manassas, died at the scene.

Two other drivers were taken to Fairfax Inova Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries, police say.

The crash was causing major delays on I-66 but police have since cleared the scene and all lanes are open.
