MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — The family and friends of a man killed while riding his bike on a Montgomery County road last fall installed a ghost bike in his memory.
William Villavicencio was only 19 years old when he got off the bus with his bike last October.
A hit-and-run driver, who has still not been identified, hit and killed him as he was crossing Georgia Avenue.
The family spoke out about the need for improved safety measures.
"Drive like your loved ones are on the street," Villavicencio's brother told 7News.
Since April 2021, there have been four fatal crashes, including five deaths, on just a two-block stretch of Georgia Avenue.
