Ezra Porter, former MetroAccess driver charged with sexual assault, trial begins Tuesday

Ezra Porter, a former MetroAccess driver, is charged with sexually assaulting a passenger in April 2013 while transporting her home.

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (WJLA) – The trial of a former MetroAccess driver charged with sexual assault is scheduled to begin Tuesday.

Ezra Porter Jr., is accused of sexually assaulting a female rider on April 19, 2013. Porter was driving the woman home from her job when he allegedly pulled the vehicle to a stop and threatened to hurt the woman if she did not take off her pants. The victim obliged and Porter allegedly sexually assaulted her before resuming the transport and taking the woman home. The victim later reported the incident to police.

Porter was charged with one count of second degree assault, and one count each of first, second, third and fourth degree sex offense.

Jury selection will begin Tuesday. Opening statements are expected to immediately follow.
