Democrats Blair and Elrich neck and neck in Montgomery County Executive race
David Blair and Marc Elrich, both Democratic candidates for Montgomery County Executive, are locked in a tight race.
After term limits forced longtime County Executive Ike Leggett to step down, six Democrats ran, including three current council members -- Robert Berliner, George Leventhal, and Elrich.
Blair, on the other hand, is a business man and multi-millionaire.
Both Blair and Elrich had roughly 29 percent of the vote with 98 percent of precincts reporting at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday. Elrich had a slight edge at that time, with less than 500 votes separating the two.
The winner will face Robin Ficker, who won the Republican nomination in an uncontested race.
