Torri Hayslett is no longer a career counselor with the District. She is out of a job after being sentenced on Monday on 2 misdemeanors. Both theft in the 2nd degree.

Last October outside D.C. Superior Court Hayslett tried to avoid I-Team Reporter Scott Taylor and his questions after she took a plea deal. She has now admitted to stealing $3,000 from a GoFundMe account she set up for a Howard University student who needed the extra money to graduate.

She also stole a $1,000 from students at McKinley Tech High School who thought they were giving her money to pay for a college field trip. She admits she has a gambling addiction and is now in counseling. She told the judge “I am very sorry for everything that has transpired”.

She has no prior criminal record. The judge gave her 2 years’ probation and she has to pay back all the money. If she doesn't get thru probation... she will face up to a year in jail.
