An effort is underway to clean up graffiti in certain areas in DC that have been the source of a lot of complaints.

Capitol Hill appears to have a problem and it's unsightly. A higher than usual amount of graffiti is surfacing and it’s not just typical graffiti but street signs and parking signs have also been tagged.

Many signs are completely blacked out or have been cleaned and scrubbed so many times it's so faded that you can’t even read it.

Downtown Cluster of Congregations, a local advocacy watchdog group, sent the DC government a complaint with over 300 locations.

ABC7's John Gonzalez has more on this story in the above video.
