WASHINGTON (ABC7) — D.C. police announced they're investigating an early Monday morning assault in Georgetown as a possible hate crime.
According to police, around 1:41 a.m., 24-year-old Maxim Smith allegedly hit the victim with a bicycle lock during a verbal fight in the 1200 block of Wisconsin Avenue, NW.
Smith was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.
Police said an investigation into the assault remains ongoing and additional details were not immediately available.
