DC firefighter injured while battling early morning fire in Georgetown

A D.C. firefighter was injured while battling a fire early Friday morning that broke out in the 1200 block of Wisconsin Avenue.

The fire was brought under control by 7:30 a.m., but D.C. Fire said crews were still "checking for hotspots."

Fire officials confirmed the firefighter's injuries were minor and there were no other injuries sustained during the incident.

The fire was determined to have been accidental and damage was estimated at $100,000.
