DC firefighter on leave following armed robbery arrest after online sales transaction
SILVER SPRING, Md. (ABC7) —
A DC firefighter has been arrested and charged after an online sales transaction turned violent last week, according to Montgomery County Police.
On Thursday, December 20, officers responded to the report of an armed robbery at around 12 p.m. at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and East West Highway in Silver Spring, police say.
According to the victim, they had made arrangements through a website called "OfferUp" to sell a pair a of Christian Louboutin Louis Orlato Holographic sneakers, which are valued at around $700.
Police say the victim and the buyer met to sell/exchange the sneakers, but there was a disagreement over the transaction. During the disagreement, police say the buyer displayed a handgun and then fled the scene with the shoes.
Following an investigation, officers arrested and charged Davon Alfred Moore, 24, of Southeast Washington, in connection with the crime on Monday.
Moore has been charged with armed robbery, first-degree assault, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and theft.
He was released on Wednesday after posting a $5,000 bond.
DC Fire says Moore has been placed on leave pending the outcome of the investigation. He has been with the department for four years.
