WASHINGTON (ABC7) — D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser discussed preparations for summer with topics centered on jobs, crime and recreation on Thursday.
At D.C. Employment Services, employers met with young people to discuss potential summer jobs and long-term opportunities.
The subject of crime was addressed by D.C. Police Chief Peter Newsham. The chief says he's designated police captains for six specific areas created to fight crime.
Part of Newsham's initiative will focus on four areas in Southeast Washington and the neighborhoods of Langston and Greenway.
