Darwin Bowman to be sentenced for 2009 Loudoun murder
A 22-year-old man is scheduled to be sentenced Friday after pleading guilty to first degree murder and aggravated malicious wounding in a high profile Loudoun County 2009 murder.
The Washington Post reports that Darwin Giovany Bowman was one in a group of three that is suspected of brutally attacking William Bennett and his wife Cynthia Bennett in March of 2009.
The Loudoun County attack left 57 year old William Bennett dead and his wife Cynthia Bennett critically wounded.
Before Bowman's sentencing continues, the Loudoun County Circuit Court must first accept his plea.
If his plea is accepted, Bowman would avoid the death penalty.
His deal mirrors that of the first suspect sentenced in this case, 21 year old Jaimie Ayala. Ayala was sentenced to life in prison plus 40 years in August of 2011.
