D.C. State Fair to feature first-ever marijuana growing competition
WASHINGTON (WJLA) – For the first time ever, the D.C. State Fair will feature a marijuana growing contest.
Entries for the “Best Bud” contest must have been grown from the seed and will be judged on appearance, odor and touch—whether or not the stem is sticky or bends versus snaps. Competitors must submit one small bud ranging in size from about 1 to 2 grams, according to the entry form.
The form also states that judges will “not consume or sample your submission”.
The possession of small amounts of marijuana was legalized in D.C. earlier this year.
The D.C. State Fair will be held Saturday, September 12, at the Old City Farm and Guild.
