WASHINGTON (WJLA) - It's becoming a growing problem in the District, with residents and motorists expressing concern over the hoards of illegal dirt bikers and all-terrain vehicle, or ATV, riders seemingly taking over the street at will.

Police and local leaders are now making a push to stop the vehicles that are on the streets illegally and are sometimes swarming motorists and injuring pedestrians.

In the hope of avoiding chases that could lead to crashes, police are now trying to swarm the riders at gas stations when they stop to fuel up.
