Construction worker trapped under heavy machinery, rescued with serious injuries in Md.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (ABC7) — A construction worker was trapped underneath equipment similar to a Bobcat in Montgomery County on Saturday afternoon, PIO Pete Piringer reported.

According to reports, the worker was working in an L-shaped trench within a commercial building on Taft Ct. when the heavy machinery fell above the trench and prevented him from getting out.

Crews worked for hours to excavate the seven-to-eight foot sewer line.

The construction worker was eventually rescued and transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
