Construction crane collapses near Nats Park in DC, operator hospitalized, officials say
WASHINGTON (ABC7) —
A construction crane collapsed near Nationals Park in D.C. Thursday, sending the operator to the hospital, according to authorities.
The D.C. Fire Department say the collapse happened at 3rd and Tingey Streets, SE in the Navy Yard area just before 9:30 a.m. D.C. Police say the worker was using the crane to lift something off the road when it toppled over.
Police say the construction worker was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The D.C. Fire Department says that the crane is stable and there is no further danger at this time.
