Police: 9-year-old girl shot in apparent drive-by in Northeast DC
WASHINGTON (ABC7) —
Fitfth District Commander William FitzGerald says a nine-year-old girl was hit by a bullet while she was playing in front of her house around 9:30 p.m. at 16th and E streets in Northeast Washington Friday.
He does not believe she was the intended target.
Her injuries are described as non-life threatening.
Fitzgerald believes the incident was a drive-by shooting.
Police are now searching for a dark-colored vehicle.
