A cat that reportedly had been stuck in a tree for 36 hours in Gaithersburg was rescued Friday afternoon.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service responded to the scene, along with Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies, and Montgomery County Animal Services.

One firefighter climbed a ladder and brought the cat down.

A homeowner in the 12000 block of Morning Light Terrace told ABC7 she thought it was a bobcat at first and she was worried it would attack her English bulldog puppy. She said it had been in the tree for two days.

The cat was turned over to Montgomery County Animal Services.
