WASHINGTON (ABC7) — A 16-year-old boy was stabbed to death Tuesday afternoon in the area of the NoMa-Gallaudet U Metro station.
The boy was stabbed in the chest in the 1300 block of 2nd Street, NE around 4:35 p.m., D.C. police said.
D.C. Police Chief Peter Newsham said the the victim was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. He had been unconscious and unresponsive with life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses told both police and ABC7 that a group of teens from a nearby school were fighting when all of the sudden one fell with two stab wounds. The group then scattered, police said.
A manager of a nearby Five Guys performed CPR on the victim following the stabbing, according to a witness who spoke with ABC7.
Newsham said D.C. police are investigating the death as a homicide. They did not currently have a lead on a suspect.
