FALLS CHURCH, Va. (ABC7) — A man is in custody after a bomb threat prompted an evacuation at a Starbucks in Falls Church.
Fairfax County police said they responded to the Starbucks at 8104 Arlington Blvd. around 5 p.m. Saturday after a man threatened that he had a bomb.
The man believed to have made the threat remained inside before later being taken into custody.
Explosive Ordinance Disposal officers were on the scene around 7 p.m. to evaluate a backpack, though nothing suspicious was found inside of it.
Even after the man was taken into custody, police urged people to continue to avoid the area as they conducted an investigation. The shopping center later reopened to the public.
The Starbucks is located in the Fairfax County section of Falls Church.
