Bomb threat causes evacuation at Silver Spring high school
SILVER SPRING, Md. (ABC7) —
Two Silver Spring high schools received threats Thursday, police say, and one of them was evacuated due to the specific threat of a bomb on school property.
Montgomery Blair High School was evacuated around 1 p.m. after the school received a call about an "incendiary device" there. Springbrook High School, which saw a student arrested for gun possession on school grounds Wednesday, received a "generalized threat" and was not evacuated, though the incident is being investigated.
Montgomery Blair principal Renay Johnson tweeted that after-school activities were cancelled for the day, although a planned evening concert would go on as planned.
Around 3, Johnson tweeted that the building had been cleared for re-entry.
