WASHINGTON (ABC7) — Ben & Jerry's co-founders Jerry Greenfield and Ben Cohen were arrested Monday during a protest on the steps of the U.S. Capitol Building, according toa release from the Ben & Jerry's website.
According to the release, Greenfield and Cohen took part in protests with a group called Democracy Awakening and were arrested, but later released.
ABC7 reports that Cohen and Greenfield later stopped by George Washington University to speak in support of Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, who is running for the Democratic presidential nomination. Cohen and Greenfield are from the Vermont area.
