PURCELLVILLE, Va. (ABC7) -- A large barn on Hillsboro Road in Purcellville was engulfed in flames Wednesday.

Just before noon on Nov. 11, calls came in for a fire near Harry Byrd Highway and Hillsboro Road. Fire and rescue crews from Purcellville, Round Hill, Lovettsville, Leesburg, Loudoun Heights, Philomont, Hamilton, Lucketts, Mount Weather and Clarke County responded to the scene.

High winds made it difficult to extinguish the barn fire, officials said.

Three firefighters were injured in the incident, according to police.

A short in an electrical outlet caused the fire, which resulted in $300,000 worth of damage, the Loudoun County Fire Marshal's Office said.
