Bone found in submerged barrel on West Ocean City beach is from an animal, not a human
OCEAN CITY, Md. (ABC7) —
The bone that was found in a barrel submerged in water and sand at a beach in West Ocean City was from an animal bone, not from a human.
In a tweet on Thursday, The Worcester County Sheriff said that the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner had made the determination.
A couple wading in the water on Tuesday found what they thought was a suitcase in the water at Homer Gudelsky Park. It turned out to be a deteriorating wooden barrel. with bones and burned personal effects inside.
Divers pulled the contents from the barrel and discovered the burned bone among burned personal effects.
