The American Red Cross is urging donors to donate blood as they face "dangerously low blood supply levels."

According to Red Cross, they are "experiencing the worst blood shortage in over a decade."

They say this comes as the holiday season, school breaks and winter weather lead to lower donor turnout.

Officials say this has led some hospitals to defer patients from major surgery, including organ transplants.

To attract more donors, the Red Cross will give an exclusive Red Cross long-sleeved T-shirt to those who come to give blood through Jan. 2, while supplies last and to those who give blood, platelets or plasma in January will automatically be entered for a chance to win a getaway to Super Bowl LVI in Los Angeles and they will also be automatically entered to win a home theater package and a $500 e-gift card.
