A group of seniors at Loudoun County High School organized an event called "America Monday" to celebrate the United States.

The seniors who refer to themselves as "The Young Conservatives" told ABC7 News that last week school administrators stopped the idea because they were worried the event may turn "too political."

Administrators suggested the students have a "Mythology Day" instead.

However, school administrators also told ABC7 News they never rejected their plan because the students didn't officially bring the idea to them.

Students addressed their concerns on social media and announced the event would go on.

ABC7 News' Q McCray has more on this story in the above video.
