Large box truck smashes into rear of school bus in King George
KING GEORGE, Va. (ABC7) —
A crash between a school bus and a large box truck was reported Tuesday afternoon in King George, according to the Virginia State Police.
Officials say the accident happened in the 8000 block of James Madison Parkway at around 3 p.m.
Police say the school bus, which was carrying five students, one bus aide and the driver at the time of the crash, was stopped with its emergency lights activated when a large box truck smashed into the back of the bus. The impact of the crash forced the bus to overturn on its side, according to police.
The school bus driver and the driver of the box truck were medevaced to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Some of the children were transported to the hospital with minor injuries. They have all been reunited with their parents, according to hospital officials.
