Police: Man arrested for abduction, sexual assault of girl in Woodbridge

Adam-Seth Walter (Prince William County Police Department)

WOODBRIDGE, Va. (ABC7) - Prince William County Police have arrested a man wanted in connection to the abduction and sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl in Woodbridge.

Police say the girl was on her way to school when an unknown man, later identified as 26-year-old Adam-Seth Walter, confronted and grabbed her while implying he had a weapon in the 14200 block of Essex Drive on Tuesday morning.

A 34-year-old woman was in front of her home when she witnessed the man grabbing the girl, police say. That's when police say Walter hit the woman several times then forced her and the girl into the home.

When another resident of the home attempted to intervene, police say Walter fled the scene with the girl.

Walter then took the girl to an address on Cumberland Dr. and sexually assaulted her, according to police.

After the assault, police say Walter let the girl go and then left the area on foot.

ABC7 News obtained surveillance video of what appears to be Walter walking in the neighborhood:

After the incident, the woman and girl were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Police say Walter has been charged with multiple felonies in regard to the abduction and assault and is currently incarcerated.
