2 men arrested for allegedly shooting ice cream truck driver during robbery in SE D.C.

Police arrested two men for allegedly shooting an ice cream truck driver during a robbery in Southeast Washington.

Shaquille Delonte Taylor, 22, and Deon Leroy Cannon, 23, are charged with armed robbery and assault with a dangerous weapon, according to police.

On May 28, Taylor and Cannon confronted the driver while he was in the parked vehicle. Police say one of the men brandished a gun and demanded items from the driver.

According to investigators, the driver complied, and one of the men fired a shot hitting him.

He sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital.

The incident occurred in the 2300 block of Skyland Place, SE.
