2 injured during house fire overnight in Northeast D.C., fire officials say

Two people were injured during a house fire early Thursday morning in Northeast Washington.

A man was seriously injured and a woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Fire officials say both were taken to an area hospital.

According to fire officials, two Metropolitan Police officers were also taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

Firefighters and two police officers removed the victims from the home during the incident.

The fire took place in the 1700 block of Buchanan Street, NE.
