Two D.C. men are dead after an SUV reportedly crashed into them in Dewey Beach, Delaware Saturday, according to authorities.

Delaware State Police say the black 2017 Chevrolet Suburban crashed on Coastal Highway (SR1) near Saulsbury Street at around 5:00 p.m.

Police identified the victims as 53-year-old James D. Walton and 58-year-old Richard G. Chittick. Both men were standing outside of a restaurant when the 61-year-old driver of the SUV had a "medical issue" that led to him blacking out.

The SUV then hit the two men before crashing trough a utility pole, ABC6 says.

The driver was taken to the hospital but the men were pronounced dead at the scene, according to ABC6. Police also reportedly told the station that impairment and distraction were not factors in the crash.

Police are asking anyone with information on the crash to call them at 302-703-3267.
