ST. MARY'S COUNTY, Md. (WJLA) - The 14-year-old boy who was injured during the shooting at Great Mills High School was released from the hospital Wednesday.

Desmond Barnes was one of two people injured after the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office says that 17-year-old Austin Rollins opened fire with a Glock pistol Tuesday morning before he was stopped by a school resource officer.

Barnes had been taken to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital where authorities listed him in stable condition. The other victim, 16-year-old Jaelynn Willey, was taken to Shock Trauma in life-threatening condition. A YouCaring page was created to raise money for Barnes and it has raised over $13,000.

The sheriff's department says Rollins died after he was injured in the shooting. Great Mills High School remains closed until April 2.
