BELTSVILLE, Md. (WJLA) – Two teens were killed and two people were injured when a car and a trash truck collided head on in Beltsville early Monday morning, Prince George's County authorities said.

The deadly crash occurred about 4:45 a.m. in the 11300 block of Edmonston Road.

Investigators indicated that the trash truck was traveling south on Edmonston Road when a Chevrolet Impala carrying five young men left its lane and struck the truck head on.

The car's driver died at the scene, police said. The trash truck driver and two passengers in the Impala were also hospitalized in critical condition; one of the passengers later passed away. The other two car passengers suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Now, two Prince George’s County families are forever linked in tragedy, as two friends were killed in the same crash. Stephen Nestor and Marvin Vainqueur, both 19, didn’t survive the accident.

“I see it on TV all the time, but never one day thought it would happen to us,” said Vainqueur’s aunt, Farah Moise.

“I miss my baby,” said Nestor’s mother, Florence. “I never think for one day he’s just gone, and I won’t be able to see him anymore.”

Nestor and Vainqueur’s mothers grew up together and then went their separate ways. Their sons became friends in the past year. But it was only a few months ago that the families made the connection. They say both young men were studying to become electricians and were expected to graduate in September.

“For some reason, our children are just gone—at the same time,” Florence Nestor said.
