Man dies in 2-car crash on Beltway in Prince George's County, police say
FORESTVILLE, Md. (ABC7) —
Police said a 40-year-old man died in a two-car accident early Friday morning in Prince George's County.
Investigators said a Toyota struck the back of a Kia Optima, which caused both vehicles to drive off of the road in a median.
The driver of the Toyota, identified as 46-year-old Charles Smith, and a female passenger were sustained injuries and were taken to University of Maryland Prince George's Hospital.
According to police, Smith was arrested at the hospital for attacking a security guard, disorderly conduct and impeding a criminal investigation.
The accident occurred along the outer loop of Interstate 495 at MD 414. Three lanes on the outer loop of I-95 before exit 7 MD-5 were closed due to the crash.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
